The First Post

Ray and I arrived yesterday at around 2pm. Five and one half hours on the bus from Puebla. The mountain scenery was magnificent.

Today we found an apartment, a temporary one. We move in tomorrow at noon. It will be nice to get away from this hotel. The Moon travel guide recommended it, but it is priced for tourists, foreign tourists. There seems to be a big divide between gringo and non-gringo pricing. In any case, it costs too much for me here.

Living in the apartment, I will be able to buy fresh food in the market and cook at home. Figuring out what to buy and how to buy it will be a challenge, but there have been many challenges so far, mostly having to do with language.

This evening we walked to the zócalo. A beautiful evening with many people of all ages. After dinner we ended up watching a clown, payaso, perform in front of maybe 150 people for close to an hour.
I will start taking some pictures to post tomorrow.
